The Jaguar XJS has seen a revival of popularity recently with a number of top journalists opting to make a purchase of the iconic coupe. The model was produced for a massive 21 years meaning they still remain quite a common car, except for a few unusual spec iterations. On its last year of production in 1995, Jaguar produced the celebration edition to mark 60 years of manufacturing, the most refined XJS ever made. During the last year of orders, it is thought that just  a handful of examples were made with manual gearbox option….this is one of those cars.

Sold by Harvey Hudson & Co of London in November 1995 in stunning Sapphire blue with cream leather interior for just under £40,000, the car remains in fantastic, unrestored condition. Looked after by Jaguar specialists throughout its life, it has had just 3 former keepers. A silky smooth, exceptionally rare manual gearbox mates perfectly to the 4.0 AJ16 straight six engine and make for a wonderful drive. Both bodywork and underside present very well for an unrestored car, a perfectionist may want some time spent on detailing and enhancing the paintwork. But we must remember a car is only in original condition once. Having been part of car collection since 2012, it has only driven a couple of thousand miles in the last decade with the recent owner taking it on a couple of classic car tours. With its rare manual gearbox, this has to be a sure-fire investment 90’s car that will make a great talking point at any show or Cars & Coffee event.

The sale includes the original wallet for the car with all its booklets including a service manual fully stamped up until 71,000 miles, then a more recent service in August 2024 on around 72,900 miles which included a full fluid change. There is also a large folder of paperwork which includes parts and service receipts from Jaguar specialists, old V5’s and a stream of MOT’s proving its mileage.
