One of the legendary hot hatches from the early 00’s. This Clio 197 was built for track use to a very high standard, so much so that its spec permits it to race at club level in many tin top UK race series. The engine has recently been rebuilt with some upgrades and has only seen one Trackday since, due to the owner being too busy to make use of the car. A great entry level car to get your teeth into motorsport with lots of key maintenance completed. It could also make a decent rally car with a few changes.

The engine was rebuilt in 2024 with ported and polished head and Cooksport remap. It features V6 airbox and race battery relocated to behind passenger seat. Handling improvements include Gripper limited slip differential with gearbox rebuild just three trackdays ago with new clutch kit, Bilstein suspension setup by Rentune, Brembo front calipers, Ferodo pads and J hook discs. The interior has been fully stripped and features full multipoint Safety Devices Roll Cage, Sparco Grid Q seats, TRS 3” 6-point harnesses, Lifeline digital extinguisher system and electrical cut off, lightweight door cards and Renault Sport steering wheel. The car also benefits from a facelift with RS200 front end and cup spoiler.

The ale includes a large paper trail of work carried out in the past including engine and gearbox rebuild invoices. The sale also includes a large spares package with three sets of wheels and tyres, two sets of R888’s and one set of Rainsports, there is also a full set of Clio Cup plexi glass to be fitted. V5C present so could be road legal with a fresh MOT, we could have this done if requested. Cat D in 2016 non-structural damage to door, images can be provided.
